Benchmark Hockey is hosting a five-day camp that will be held at South Kent School. The goal of the camp is to provide boys and girls in the northwest corner of Connecticut an opportunity to develop their hockey skills on and off the ice, with coaches who have coached at the youth, junior, collegiate (NCAA Division 1 and 3), and professional level.

Benchmark Hockey's day camp will be a terrific opportunity for your son or daughter to develop their hockey skills on and off the ice. We will provide kids in the area with exposure to excellent coaching, while enjoying the beginning of summer with friends on and off the ice.

Camp Dates and Hours

The camp will be held for two weeks from June 26-30 and July 3-7. The camp hours are from 8:30AM-4:30PM. Once registered, campers will receive a confirmation email along with a schedule of on ice and off ice activities. If at any moment a question comes to mind, please don't hesitate to call us at: 860-671-7177.

Location and Amenities

The camp will be held at South Kent School. The facilities that the camp will use are Brown Gymnasium, Fathers Field, and the Admiral James and Sybil Stockdale arena. Lunch will be provided to all campers in the Dining Hall. If your child has food sensitivities or allergies, we will create an individual food plan if necessary.

Activities at the Camp

Campers will have three hours of on-ice instruction per day, and four hours of off-ice activities. On-ice and off-ice activities will be organized and supervised by our coaching staff.

Off-ice activities include: stick handling games, shooting skill work, basketball, team building, dodge ball, whiffle ball, kick ball, soccer, frisbee, swimming, fishing, golf, and much much more.

On-ice activities include: power skating, skill work/stick handling, small area games, scrimmage, and goalie specific instruction.

Equipment and Clothing Required

Full ice hockey equipment is required. All campers need to bring their own off-ice workout gear (shorts, sneakers and t-shirt). South Kent School does not have a Pro-Shop so please prepare in advance. Skate sharpening will be available.

Skill Level Required

Players must possess basic hockey skills such as skating and stick handling. Camp instructors will focus on developing the skills of beginner, and intermediate level players, while improving the skill sets of advanced level players. Goalies will receive goalie-specific instruction on and off the ice.

Camp Health Forms

Upon receipt of camper’s application and payment, campers will then be asked to submit a copy of the their most recent physical (within 36 months). Immunizations must be up-to-date (it is usually just a box that can be checked on the physical form). If the child requires medication to be administered during the camp, we need permission. An Authorization for the Administration of Medication form must be completed and signed by the health care provider and the parent/guardian.
